National Work Zone Awareness Week

National Work Zone Awareness Week runs April 8-12 and is promoted by the Georgia Department of Transportation. Blount Construction is incredibly aware and concerned for the safety of its employees and the public at large. We hope that this campaign brings awareness to the seriousness of being safe on the roadways.

Released by GDOT:

“National Work Zone Awareness Week (NWZAW) is an annual spring campaign held at the start of construction season to encourage safe driving through highway work zones. Whether you work in an office or on the roadways, everyone deserves to get home safely. This year’s theme “Drive Like You Work Here,” reminds drivers that while they may work in the safety of an office with walls, others work amid the real dangers of roadway work zones. And it is not only workers that are in peril - most victims in work zone crashes are drivers or their passengers.”
